Cindra & Jeni’s Make-A-Wish Swim Recap

The 30th Annual KELLEYS ISLAND MAKE-A-WISH SWIM was another huge success.

This year, they swam the same route they did 30 years ago, from Marblehead to the Casino Dock. That first swim had the calmest waves in all the years of the charity swim, and this year’s swim with that same route also produced calm seas. They were able to finish in 2 hours 45 minutes for Make A Wish kids to make their wishes come true, including Kinsley, who is 15 and has a form of leukemia and wishes to have her room redecorated; and Harrison, who is 9 and has a respiratory disorder and wishes to take a train trip through the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

The golf cart poker run on Saturday had some 300 hands and raised $17,000, and the new comedy show Friday hosted by Kerry McCullough at West Bay Inn featuring Jeff Blanchard from Hilarities also raised money for the cause. So far, the total is nearly $39,000, enough for at least four wishes, with more to come.

And the kids and Make-A-Wish families were there to cheer on Cindra and Jeni when they reached the shore.
